"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones that you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Hi, my name is Kim Huynh and I'm from SoCal.

Recently graduating from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering (‘20), I am currently a first year graduate student at The University of Texas at Austin studying Solid State Electronics. For my deep interest in semiconductor devices, I specialize in microelectronics and nanotechnology and hope to work in the chip industry in the future.

Outside of the academic world, I am an avid coffee drinker and a dessert enthusiast, a self-taught barista and baker, and an amateur food decorator. Growing up in an Asian household where food is our love language, I enjoy going on culinary adventures with people, spend hours watching cooking shows, and never grow bored of scavenging grocery stores. You can find some of my creations on my blog. As I grew up in mostly warm weather, I also like taking daily walks while admiring the sun and listening to my favorite podcast.

Throughout undergrad, I enjoyed engaging in meaningful conversations and social discussions to make the world less of an exclusive and lonely place. Hoping to improve our society through diversity and inclusion, I led the Multicultural Council to organize many food-for-thought dormitory events and sponsor many cultural shows on campus. As an undergraduate ambassador for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), I walked with prospective students and undeclared engineering freshmen through their major-deciding process, connected them with upperclassmen in my major, and introduced them to potential research labs. I represented my home department (ECE) in the Undergraduate Student Advisory Board in the College of Engineering to voice students' concerns and improve our academic environment to be more sustainable, inclusive, and healthy. I was also an active member and leader in a Christian campus ministry, where I was blessed with genuine and intergenerational friendships.

If you'd like to learn more about me, you can look at my resume below. Also, let's get connected before you go!
